For this project in a Design Foundations class, I was tasked with creating an abstract stop-motion animation. I challenged myself by using non-traditional materials including craft wire, recycled plastic packaging, and plastic coil binding as the only elements in my animation. Additionally, each frame was created with a desktop scanner to achieve an eerie warped effect with the plastic; the slow-moving scanner allowed me to move the plastic around the frame as it was being scanned, creating a unique warped effect. Other than minor touchups to the scanner quality, the frames are not layered and appear exactly how they were scanned and created physically.
